Annual Meeting and Dance We had a great July 26, 2008 annual meeting and dance. Great potluck food preceded our annual club meeting. The new board was installed with plenty of left-over food for the dance that followed. The theme was a Hot Dog Picnic at the RB Gazebo. Jim Randall & Ray Holmes were the callers. Besides our club members, we had 4 clubs visiting this dance: the Circulators, the Sandpipers, the Whirlaways, and the Oceanwavers. |

St. Claire's Home for Abused
Women The Wranglers benefit dance generated $2,137.91 for the St. Claire's Home for Abused Women. Wow! Great going everyone! Special thanks to Gene & Emily for chairing the event and to all of the Wrangler's that participated in the event. All had a good time. Let's also not forget Ray & Peter for generously donating half of their calling/cueing fees to St Clare's. In the picture album is a photo of Lou and Suzi presenting the check to St Clare's Home for abused women. Sister Claire was ill and couldn't be there to personally accept the check, so we took a presentation photograph with Sister Claire in a background picture. |

Wrangler Visitation to the
SDSDA Circulator's Club March 28, 2008 the Wrangler's visited the San Diego Square Dance Association's Circulators Club in Balboa Park. We had 12 Wrangler's in attendance which was enough to win our club banner back. Steve Woodward was calling and they had a fun tip where one square had to keep a sour pickle in their mouths, one square had no hands dancing, and one square had a broom for one of the dancers in the square. You will see the broom in the scrapbook photo. |

Wrangler Visitation to The
Whirlaways The Wrangler's had 17 dancers attend the Whirlaway's Feb 22, 2008 Spin-The-Top dance. We gathered together at Pinera Bread Restaurant for dinner prior to the dance. Ron was our spin-the-top man, but unfortunately, he needs more practice to win next year. Buddy Weaver was calling and all had a great time. We hit the triple crown. We won our banner back, came back with a Whirlaway banner, and best of all we won the PSDA Lighthouse back! |

Pie Night Dance The Wrangler Pie Night Dance was an open dance for both club and student dancers. Visiting student's from various clubs attended and there were eight squares on the floor. Ray Holmes calling had a sore throat but managed to make it through the night. The refreshment tables were crowded with home made pies of every kind and description. The new dancer's had a really good time. |

Happy New Year 2008 Happy New Year! We had such a nice time at the New Year's Eve party/dinner/dance thrown by Will & Judy and the Sandpipers. There were four of us Wranglers! |

Oceanwavers Visitations The visitation January 4th at the Oceanwavers had 12 wranglers show up. We brought back the Oceanwavers banner and they owe us a wrangler banner that they didn’t bring to the dance. |

Wrangler Rustler-Hustler Dance Twelve pounds of ground beef made up 6 batches of the Wrangler chili recipe plus Laurie's vegetarian chili made the Chuck Wagon Supper. Every spoonful was dished up serving the 95 attendees. The sexy Barbara in her fantastic hustler costume and the dashing Don in his debonair gambling get-up brought attendees to the bar and were given a I’ve been Hustled” or “I’ve been Rustled” pin. Ron kept busy all evening capturing and jailing desperados and handing out warrants and fines. The best ladies costume was won by Shirley for her dance hall girl costume and Jim won for the most authentic looking cowboy |

Whirlaways Visitations 2007 The Wranglers paid two visits to the Whirlaways late in 2007. One a regular visitation, the other to participate in their annual Benefit Dance. |

Wrangler Rustler-Hustler Dance 2005 Ray called the "Hustler Rustler Wild West Dance" on November 18th with Peter cuing the rounds. Channel looked lovely as the "hustler" and Bob made a great "rustler". Jim once again provided services as Marshall. There was a good turn-out of dancers, including several of the class members. Ray called a couple of class level tips so they could also join in with the dancing. Everyone enjoyed a dinner of chili, corn bread, coleslaw, and brownies and a special exhibition dance performance by the Heritage Dancers. It was a fun evening and everyone had a good time. |

Wrangler Rustler-Hustler Dance 2004 Steve called for the "Hustler Rustler Wild West Dance" on November 19th. There was a good turn-out at the dance and everyone had a great time. A chuck wagon supper included home-made chili, corn bread, and coleslaw (all very yummy.) For dessert there was an assortment of decadent chocolate delights; brownies, cakes, cookies, pudding, and mousse. Marge won the title of "Chocoholics Best Friend." There was a jail set up and Marshall Dillon did a fine job of keeping all the "rowdies" under control. Several people did have to spend some time behind bars. In fact, Peter even cued two rounds from jail! In addition to the 50/50 prizes, there were also many door prizes and prizes for the best western costumes. Between tips, the "Hustler" and the "Rustler" were out there hustling and rustling drinks from the good folks at the dance. And, of course, there was lots of DANCING! A good time was definitely had by all! |
