Wrangler Class News

The Westwood Wranglers Square Dance Club was formed April 9, 1973, after nine couples completed a square dance class. The group first met and danced at the Westwood Club in Rancho Bernardo. Thus the club is officially chartered as the "Westwood Wranglers." Membership now comes from a wide local area, and the club no longer meets at the Westwood Club, so now, we just refer to ourselves as the "WRANGLERS." |

Wrangler Scrapbooks of Pictures Many Square Dance Clubs like the Wrangler's provide a theme for their dances, such as, the "Hobo" or "Short Pants Dance." Then there are special event dances like the Anniversary Dance or the Rustler Hustler annual club fund raiser dance or a benefit dance they sponsor for a charitable organization. |
Club News - Jamboree by the Sea - Feb. 4-6, 2005

Quite a few Wranglers and even a couple of the Wrangler class members attended the "56th Annual Jamboree by the Sea," sponsored by the Palomar Square Dance Association. Held at the Del Mar Fairgrounds, there were separate rooms set up for Mainstream, Plus, and Advanced Square Dancing, plus another for Round Dancing. All of the callers, Tim Crawford, Jerry Jestin, Rod Shuping, and Steve Woodard were excellent callers and a lot of fun to dance to. There was also a venders hall, a fashion show, and an exhibition by the Heritage Dancers. I think everyone had a good time. I know I did!
